The only dating community where every single member is validated in person. No bots, no catfish, no exceptions.
Apply to the waitlist, meet a MARP host in person — a cafe, park, restaurant, gym, among many other public places — for a quick ID check, and step into a circle where every face you see has done the same. Built for people who'd rather meet ten real humans than swipe past a thousand strangers.
Launching in select cities — first verification events this Spring

We trade convenience for absolute certainty.
Apply through the waitlist, then agree on a time and place with your host — cafes, parks, restaurants, gyms, bookstores, museums, among many other public spots. Both sides put down a $10 fully refundable deposit.
A real conversation plus a quick face-to-ID check. As soon as you both show up and meet, the $10 deposits are automatically reversed — no-shows forfeit theirs.
Your profile is activated. You only ever see — and are seen by — other people who completed the exact same process.
Your profile is invisible to anyone who hasn't been validated in person. The result is a community built on radical transparency and mutual investment.
Our verification hosts are vetted members of the community — handsome, beautiful, kind humans who volunteer their evenings at our partner venues. As a thank-you, hosts can open up to 30 chat channels with verified users as part of their membership. New users receive 2 free months after their in-person verification.
Every host answers 5 long-form questions about themselves — their story, what they care about, how they see the world. To get verified, you have to actually sit down with your host and have a real conversation to learn their answers. No shortcut, no skim. The conversation is the verification.
No selfie loops, no government ID uploaded to a faceless server. You meet a MARP host wherever works — cafes, parks, restaurants, gyms, bookstores, museums, among many other places. They match your ID to your face, confirm a few details, and you're in.
It's the slowest part of joining, on purpose. It's also the reason every other member is real.
Before every verification, both the host and the person being verified put down a $10 fully refundable deposit. When you actually show up and meet, the transaction is reversed automatically. No-shows forfeit the deposit — that's the consequence.
During verification, the host can ask a few optional questions to narrow your visibility to specific groups. Skip any you don't want to answer. Everything below can be updated anytime from your profile once you're a member.
All preferences are optional and editable later from your account.
After you're off the waitlist, you book a time and place with your assigned host — a cafe, park, restaurant, gym, bookstore, museum, or any public spot that works for both of you. You meet face-to-face. Every host has answered 5 long-form questions about themselves — their story, what they value, how they see the world — and the only way to learn those answers is to actually sit down and talk with them. There's no quiz to pass and no script; the conversation itself is the verification. While you talk, the host checks a government-issued ID against your face and activates your account on the spot. No selfie videos, no ID uploads, no third-party background-check vendor. The ID is verified visually and not stored.
Before every verification, both the host and the person getting verified put down a $10 fully refundable deposit — skin in the game on both sides. When you actually show up and meet, the transaction is automatically reversed and nobody pays a cent. If either party no-shows without a valid reason, they forfeit their deposit. It exists to make sure everyone takes the meeting seriously and respects the other person's time.
It forces verification to be a real human exchange instead of a transaction. You can't speed-run it, you can't outsource it, and you can't fake your way through. By the time you walk out verified, you've had an actual conversation with an actual person about things that matter to them — which is the same standard we want every match on the platform to live up to.
Tags like Single, Married-open, Women only, Straight, Bisexual, Gay/Lesbian, or Polyamorous let you narrow who can see your profile and who shows up in your feed. Every tag is optional — skip any or all of them. You can add, remove, or change tags anytime from your account after you're verified. Tags are filters, not labels shown on your public profile.
Verification only works if there's a trusted host nearby. We're launching in the Bay Area / East Bay — currently Oakland, Berkeley, and Walnut Creek — because that's where our first cohort of vetted community hosts are active. New cities open as soon as we approve enough local hosts to run reliable verification windows. If you join the waitlist from outside these cities, we'll email you the moment your area opens.
Your verification carries with you. Once you're in, you're in — you can use MARP in any city we operate in without re-verifying.
Yes. Every interview answer, tag, and visibility setting is editable from your profile after verification. Nothing you say during the in-person check is permanent.
MARP is a members-only dating community for people who are tired of swiping through bots, recycled photos, and profiles that don't match the person who shows up. Every member is validated face-to-face before they ever appear in the app.
Verification isn't just a badge — it's a commitment. Our fees cover the logistics of in-person validation, the hosts who welcome you, and the partner venues that make it possible. The result: a pool of people who are genuinely invested in meeting someone real.
